The Nixon Lodown Surf Watch
Since I’ve gotten older and feel like I have so called “important” things to do, I’ve found that having a watch in the water while surfing is absolutely necessary. A couple of years ago I picked up a super simple waterproof watch that has worked great for me. I’m the kind of person who goes for simple and practical, however the other day while surfing with a friend in Hawaii, I was introduced to an awesome Nixon watch called the Lodown. I think my definition of practical has since become a little more complicated.
The Lodown surf watch has so many features that are aimed entirely towards surfers. Besides being waterproof up to 100 meters, this Nixon watch is equipped with digital pre-programmed tide charts for over 200 beaches for the next 15 years. That’s pretty incredible if you ask me. On top of that it has dual time, an alarm, a countdown timer and, my personal favorite, a wave counter. This watch was created for surfing, so if a surfing watch is what you are looking for, the Nixon Lodown surf watch is your answer. This watch runs for about $100, and you can
pick it up online or at surf shops worldwide.
For those of you interested in saving the environment and keeping the ocean blue, check out the Nixon Lodown Project Blue edition. Buy this surf watch and Nixon will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation to fund environmental projects around the world.

This watch would be pretty awesome if I could figure out how to set the tides. I might seem like a moron, but I’m new to these watches, and i can’t figure out how to actually SET the tides. I can get the beach, date, place, but I just can’t get it to set perminantly. Any advice?
