The Carveboard, A Solution For Flat Days
When you are stuck at home and the waves are flat, what do you do? Carveboard USA has a solution. Carveboards are like a longboard skateboard, but give you a lot more of that surfing feel on land than a longboard ever will.
Carveboards are 43 inches long and 11.5 inches wide. What makes them so unique is their tires. Yup, I said tires. They don’t have wheels. Carveboards have full on tires with tubes. The tires allow you to change your setup depending on conditions. If you are riding your board on flatter ground they recommend you pump your tires up to between 30-40 psi. Then if you and your buds decide to go bomb some hills, they recommend you deflate your tires to between 10-20 psi allowing you to get more grip on the road.
Another unique feature of the carveboard is the trucks. The trucks have large springs built into them that allow for maximum carving. They also provide stability while in between carves. You can choose from standard or stiff springs depending on your preference. These trucks create a unique feel that I have not been able to match on other boards that are looking to recreate the feel of surfing on land.
The decks come in two flexes. They have an under 200 pound flex and an over 200 pound flex so that even the big kahunas out there can shred the asphalt on flat days. The decks have a double contour that kicks up from tail to nose and rail to rail. This allows your feet to really lock in and carve extra tight.
A really fun part is trying the Carveboard in different locations. Random hills, residentials, parking lots. As you see in the video below, they are very versatile and not only fun on hills. I find riding them through residentials and using slanted driveways to carve is the most fun. Also in the video you will see some with wheels instead of tires. They are made by the same company. They are called Carvestiks.
The Carveboard is a great edition to your quiver. It isn’t super cheap, but that is because it is worth it. It isn’t a piece of junk ripstick you see those kids wiggling around on everywhere, (is there a way we can get rid of those things?). Get a Carveboard for those flat days and I don’t think you will regret it.

I like the video. These look fun.
Carveboards are sweet. It really is the closest to the surfing feel that you can get without actually surfing.
Those carvesticks look rad too.
