At The Surfing Blog, we’re trying to make it a little easier for you to figure out where to go on your next surf trip. 1. Surf Algeria says:

    Aloha !

We are a a little group of newbies surfers, in North Africa (Algeria), and we have the pleasure to present you our region, that is reconized as a surf spot, by the Stormrider author, go check our blog (written in french, will be translated in english very soon) surfalgerie.blogspot.com

But here there some news about this Algerian East Coast, always under Mistral wind, and bringing a big swell.

You need exotic destination, new waves, new country, fabulous beaches ?

    Check this out :

“… Completely unknown on the surfmap, Algeria just proved to a team of french surfers that the potential for classic surf is tremendous ! Considering how frequent is the Mistral (NW) wind, how many left pointbreaks are hiding there, how many juicy beachbreaks can be surfed and how good the reefs can be when winds are switching offshore.

Being the 6th step of a Mediterranean surf research campaign that started in 2005, that latest YEP expedition to Algeria seems to be the most promising to trigger a flow of surfers to that virgin quality surfzone. Almost virgin ! The irony came when we cross our paths with John Callahan crew, who was scouting the zone as well. The reality is that access and security are now much better than expected !

Who will start to tap into those newly discovered breaks ? First in line, the locals from Algiers, who sent us Abdel Hak, who came to share a few sessions. And undoubtedly most northern Mediterranean surfers who will freak out when they realize how good the surf can get on Mistral wind swells on the other side of the Med. Beware, it gets even bigger than Sardegna !
