Scratt Surf: Custom Surfboards and Surfboard Art by Ed Scratt

I was recently introduced to a new company that is dedicated to custom surfboards and surfboard art. It’s kind of a different take in regards to the surfing industry, but those of you who have an appreciation for fine arts, and especially contemporary or pop art, will be very intrigued by these boards.
Scratt Surf is ran by artist Ed Scratt, an award-winning photographer, musician and designer. His website is dedicated to making surfboards that are functional wave slayers as well as radical works of art to be displayed on the wall. Kind of the best of both worlds. His art can be as complicated as a collaboration of pictures and art you send him to something as simple as an ad board for your home, restaurant or any company that could use a little something extra.
It’s really a pretty cool way to go about making custom surfboards and an even better way to create surfboard art. His boards range from about $600-$5000 depending on the design and the intensity of the project. The ordering process seems pretty hands on, and you personally get talk to him about your board design. I have really only seen what the website has to offer and would recommend you taking a look at it yourself and deciding if these custom surfboards are for you.
