Rainbow Sandals: Durable and Comfortable Beach Sandals
Over 35 years ago a man by the name of Jay R. Longley, Jr. set out to develop the perfect pair of long lasting and durable beach sandals. His result: Rainbow Sandals. Throughout recent years, these handmade beauties have become a must for every surfer and/or beachgoer. Not only do Rainbow Sandals look good, they are also extremely comfortable and durable. The other day I was leaving to go to the beach and grabbed my oldest pair of Rainbow Sandals (I own several). While getting in my car I realized that I have had these same leather sandals for over 8 years, and they are still going strong. Needless to say, if Longley’s goal really was to make durable long lasting beach sandals, he nailed it.
When someone would talk about Rainbow Sandals I used to almost always immediately think “leather sandals,” but that is hardly the case today. Although they continue to lead the surfing industry in manufacturing leather sandals, Rainbow Sandals has developed a number of other styles as well. Leather sandals are still very common and probably the most popular, but they now come in a huge variety of colors. These colors range from several different shades of brown to more unique colors such as pink, red, green, blue, white and yellow.
Though the leather sandals are always a great choice, let’s not forget the number of other options available for purchase. Rainbow Sandals makes other more traditional style beach sandals out of a sponge rubber and provides the buyer with multiple soul and strap color options to choose from. Along those same lines they also make another molded rubber sandal with a suede strap that is extremely comfortable and very stylish. Another great option are there Hemp beach sandals. About 4 years ago I bought a pair of Natural Hemp Rainbow Sandals, which I still wear today, and they are by far my favorite pair of Rainbow Sandals.
Ladies, if you’re thinking that these beach sandals are aimed only towards men you are completely mistaken. Rainbow Sandals seems to offer more for women then they do for men, and there are plenty of styles available in both rubber and leather sandals. They even make a pair for women that have a more narrow leather strap with clear Swarovski crystals embedded in it. Their women’s leather sandals come in a more feminine style that is pretty popular and quite classy. In fact last summer I attended a wedding where all the bridesmaids and even the bride herself all wore matching white leather Rainbow Sandals, and they looked really good.
Along with the numerous options of beach sandals for men, woman and children, they also have a new line of Rainbow shoes and sheepskin lined Baja Boots that are pretty cool. Although I haven’t owned every product that they sell, I definitely recommend buying anything from Rainbow Sandals because they really make quality products. Their sandals and shoes run from about $25-$100, which is extremely low considering how long they last. Everything is handmade in the Rainbow Sandals factory in San Clemente, California, so if you’re ever in the area go grab a pair from the factory shop. Don’t think you need to travel all the way to California to buy them. Rainbow Sandals can be found in just about any surf shop across America and can also be purchased on their website: Rainbow Sandals.
