Quiksilver Diamond Dobby Boardshorts: The Tunnel Vision’s
I already reviewed the Diamond Dobby Technology used in Quiksilver’s new line of boardshorts, but I have to say a few words about my latest pair from this line, the Tunnel Vision. First of all, the Tunnel Vision is not my favorite as far as design goes. I am not a huge fan of the graphics, and that was the hardest part about purchasing them. I just couldn’t beat the price and I wanted another pair of Diamond Dobby’s so badly. I got these on a 50% off sale plus the discount I got for “Friends and Family Day”, so it was like paying pocket change for some of the most innovative boardshorts around. I wanted them mainly for the length. They are 19” long, which is just an inch shorter than the Cool Out pair that I already own, and a couple inches shorter than the average Quik boardies. They aren’t super short like the retro series, which are about 16 inches long on average. I really wanted to try out what I thought would be the perfect length to go along with my new favorite boardshort technology.
I can honestly say I have lived in the Tunnel Vision boardshorts for a few weeks now. Since buying them I have surfed in them every day, used them at home in the pool, ran and worked out in them every morning, and most the time was still in them when I went to bed. Don’t worry…they were washed frequently. What I’m getting at is that I love them. The length is my favorite. They go down to just above my knee, which is perfect for everything that I do in them. I always feel a little weird in those 16-inch retro shorts, especially when sitting on a surfboard and it looks like you’re wearing almost nothing. The Tunnel Visions are perfect. They never catch your knee when getting up and down, and give you all the benefits of the Diamond Dobby Technology. These are definitely my current favorites in my boardshort collection.
