New Quiksilver Jacket: Full Wetsuit Feel on Top
Perfect Wetsuit Top for Windy Days in The Tropics

The Quiksilver jacket, known more commonly among surfers as a wetsuit top, or wet-top, is the greatest thing in the world when you’re out surfing a place that’s just not warm enough to trunk it. You still have the freedom of being in boardshorts, but you get the warmth on top of having a thin wetsuit on. In places like Hawaii, in wintertime the waves are perfect; the weather is warm, the skies are sunny, but the wind can be relentless. You can find yourself shivering in no time, and in need to get to the beach and warm up. Quiksilver’s new wetsuit top is perfect for those moments.
The long sleeve Quiksilver jacket is made using the same technology used in Quiksilver wetsuits. It is made out of the same neoprene material, with watertight seams, creating a nearly waterproof shield on your upper half. When using it, there is very minimal water flowing inside it, making it feel just like a good wetsuit. It not only keeps you warm, but also does an excellent job of protecting you from annoying rashes and a harmful sun. With the Quiksilver jacket on, you can surf all day long with protection and comfort.
Having owned several Quiksilver wetsuits in the past, I decided to get my hands on a wetsuit top to use out in Hawaii. I have owned the Quiksilver jacket since last fall and I have put it through some serious testing. It has survived well, having been used at least five days a week for the past four months on Oahu’s North and East shores. Aside from its main functions, the wetsuit top has also protected me against some pretty bad reef scrapes and some Portuguese man-o-war jellyfish stings. The only potential flaw I can see is that one of the seams on the neck is starting to get a little worn out and causes a rash after surfing for a long time. But it has made it through a lot of abuse and still keeps me warm. I highly recommend the long sleeve Quiksilver jacket to anyone who needs a little extra warmth while surfing.
