SANTA MONICA, CA (June 20th, 2009) – The Mauli Ola Foundation (MOF), a public non-profit organization dedicated to assisting those with genetic diseases, is pleased to announce it upcoming event to aid children and young adults with Cystic Fibrosis. This will be the second year in a row that MOF is teaming up with Perfect Day Surf Camp and The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Professional surfers from around the world will share their talent and time to assist the effort.

Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease affecting the lungs by blocking airways, leading to serious lung problems. Clinical trials have clarified that inhaling saltwater mist has a powerful effect on the lungs; re-hydration of the lungs allows CF patients to more easily eliminate the damaging mucus.

Perfect Day Surf Camp in Santa Monica and Redondo Beach supports non-profit organizations by offering a day of fun in the sun to create an environment where kids can be kids and forget about their illness. “Our goal is to get individuals with Cystic Fibrosis stoked on surfing so it becomes part of their treatment”, Perfect Day owner Robbie French-Yrigoyen.

The day will be made possible by our sponsors Flexfit Headwear, Ambry Genetics, O’Neill, A-Med Pharmaceuticals and the Mint Fine Art.

Thomas Cho, President of Flexfit writes “Flexfit headwear is proud to support MOF’s efforts in improving the quality of life for kids with cystic Fibrosis through sponsoring their 2009 Surf Experience Day Pacific Tour.”

Mauli Ola Foundation, founded in 2008, promotes education and awareness of genetic diseases. Surf activities have been found to have a positive impact on these children; the exercise and fun involved in the activity encourage children and young adults to utilize natural therapies, thereby decreasing their reliance on medication treatments and living longer, more enjoyable lives.
