Not that anyone needs a reason to chase big waves, but now you can while supporting a great cause at the same time. From September 1st to October 31st, get photographed on the biggest wave you can find wearing the official “Hurricane Surf for Dean!” Competitor’s Rashguard, and you could be the winner of the 2009 Little Nasty Cup. Surf as often as you can, and be sure to get it on film. You can submit your photos to the contest in one of the following divisions:

  • New York & New Jersey Men’s
  • New York & New Jersey Women’s
  • Worldwide Men’s
  • Worldwide Women’s

Hurricane Surf for Dean RashguardLittle Nasty’s Big Wave Challenge was inspired by pro surfer Dean Randazzo, New Jersey’s most successful surfer to date. Dean was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2001, and since then, he has battled back from the disease three times, each time rejoining the pro circuit. The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation raises money for cancer research and awareness. Funds collected are used to assist individuals from all walks of life who are stricken by the disease, both financially and emotionally.

The contest is open to everyone, anywhere in the world. You can purchase your rashguards at this link. If you don’t want to compete but want to support the cause, you can also purchase a limited edition Hurricane Surf for Dean 2009 t-shirt.

This contest is a follow-up to the hugely successful “Do It for Dean” event, another big wave challenge held in March of 2008. For photo submission instructions and contest rules, visit the official Hurricane Surf for Dean 2009 info page.
